Making Sushi

The Kuppel is well-received by visitors to the village

BASELWORLD Sushi Dome

Xiaoxia Duan has her hands full every evening - rolling rice and fish or vegetables into appetising little portions 1,200, times over. The Chinese-born chef is delighting the visitors to BASELWORLD village with her delicious sushi bites. On Friday, her guests included employees and clients from Vogard. "The Kuppel is fully booked," says Ralph Bucherer, manager of Yoko sushi, with delight.

It was certainly a good decision on the part of the trade show managers to include the Kuppel as an additional location in the village. While sushi lovers tucked into their food at the fully-booked Kuppel, there were also no free tables at Acqua. Employes and clients of TAG Heuer came here to enjoy the delicious Tuscan specialities. At 10 p.m., DJane Miss Bombay started spinning and the Brazilian Band Be played.

By the way, if you were wondering why the Baracca Zermatt was closed on Friday - watch manufacturer Romain Jerome booked out the entire restaurant and came here to enjoy some swiss cheese fondue. (mai)
